Industry Analyst Reports Highlight Hughes Managed Services

In late 2020, both Gartner and Frost & Sullivan recognized Hughes as a market leader in managed network services and Software Defined-Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN). These Industry Analyst Reports provide prospects and customers a detailed and objective overview of Hughes capabilities.

The Gartner November 2020 Magic Quadrant for Managed Network Services* report recognizes Hughes as a “Challenger” for its ability to execute and for its completeness of vision. Hughes also scored the highest in all five managed network use cases in the November 2020 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Managed Network Services report. This is the first time Gartner has released a Magic Quadrant for Managed Network Services.

“That’s proof of the value Hughes delivers. We always say Hughes is, ‘Big enough to succeed, small enough to care,’” explained Dan Rasmussen, senior vice president at Hughes. “We rank higher because we do a much better job at creating a positive and satisfying experience for customers.”

As Gartner put it, “Sourcing, Procurement, and Vendor Management leaders will find what differentiates providers is the level of support, network operations automation, service delivery expertise and, ultimately, the customer’s experience.”

Yet Mr. Rasmussen stressed that the details in Gartner’s critical capabilities report and the five use cases are what really stand out.

“The fact that we rank highest in the product and service score for a multi-carrier WAN environment, multiple transports and solutions, and for overall competency is critical. Those are top areas of concern and complexity for global managed services,” he said. The report also cites Hughes as a pioneer of performance optimization technology and service delivery innovation, referencing the company’s new Artificial Intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) feature that combines automation, analytics, and customer experience management.

“As we continue to deploy and expand on our AI [Artificial Intelligence] and ML [Machine Learning] service delivery enhancements, we expect further recognition of our visionary work in this market,” Mr. Rasmussen said.

The Frost & Sullivan 2020 Frost Radar™: North American Managed SD-WAN Services Market report rates Hughes a leader in both growth and innovation, and “one of the largest managed SD-WAN providers in the North American market.” The report further highlights the Hughes advantage in delivering a variety of transport and vendor choices, all optimized on a site-by-site basis.

“In the Frost & Sullivan report, we rank high on execution for Managed SD-WAN services. When prospects conduct research, this type of external validation gives them confidence. For our existing customers, it reinforces that they made a good decision,” said Mr. Rasmussen.

Frost & Sullivan also highlight the Hughes AIOps feature as significant to the Managed SD-WAN market for its ability to improve service quality and reduce customer down time.

Considering these industry recognitions together, Mr. Rasmussen said, “Our strong scoring on capabilities and the service delivery experience means that we’re not just using a PowerPoint deck and talking about what we’re going to do. We’re in the field doing it and there’s third-party proof of our performance.”
